About the Lodge

A fraternal brotherhood built on the ancient landmarks of the Craft.

Our History

Rooted in the Craft

Waltham Triad Lodge A.F. & A.M. has served the community of Waltham, Massachusetts for generations. Founded by men of good character and firm conviction, the lodge has carried forward the traditions of Free and Accepted Masonry through times of growth, change, and renewal.

The name "Triad" reflects the three great principles at the heart of our fraternity — Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth — which have guided every communication, every degree, and every act of charity since our founding.

Today, Waltham Triad Lodge continues to meet regularly, confer the three degrees of Ancient Craft Masonry, and serve the wider community through charitable works and fellowship.

The Three Great Principles

Brotherly Love

Every Mason regards his brethren as equals, offering respect, kindness, and support regardless of station or circumstance. The bonds formed in lodge extend into every aspect of life.

Relief

Masons are called to aid those in distress — brethren, their families, and the wider community. Charitable giving and personal service are cornerstones of Masonic practice.

Truth

The pursuit of truth — moral, intellectual, and spiritual — is the great work of every Mason. We seek to improve ourselves so that we may better serve others.

The Three Degrees

Freemasonry confers three progressive degrees, each building upon the last. Through allegory, symbol, and ritual, candidates are taught the moral lessons of the Craft and welcomed into the fellowship of the lodge.

Entered Apprentice

The first degree introduces the candidate to the lodge and the fundamental principles of Masonry. It is the beginning of a lifelong journey of self-improvement.

Fellowcraft

The second degree deepens the candidate's understanding of the liberal arts and sciences, and the importance of education and intellectual growth.

Master Mason

The third and highest degree of Ancient Craft Masonry. The Master Mason is a full member of the lodge, entitled to all its rights and privileges.

Lodge Officers

Current Officers

The officers of Waltham Triad Lodge are elected or appointed annually. They are responsible for the governance of the lodge and the conferral of its degrees.
